V&H EXHAUST LEAKS

I started noticing some popping and cracking sounds upon decelleration. I cranked it up and let it idle and started checking for leaks. Sure enough , i have a leak on both sides where the muffler slides onto the head pipes. I tightened the crap out of these clamps when i installed the pipes and double checked everything. With about 1000 miles on these pipes , everything was loose. I tried to retighten the clamp on the left side and i cant get the leak to stop. I got me some new crush gaskets and i am going to tear it down and start over. If you have V&H Baggers you may want to check them every once in a while.

V&H EXHAUST LEAKS

could be just an isolated case. i have owned 2 nomads with vance and hines pipes. my 05 had 35,000miles on the v/h and the only thing i had to do to them was at 30,000 replace the insulation on the baffles.my 08 nad has 6,000 miles on the v/h and again no problems. but thanks for the heads up.

I've had mine on for about 8000 miles without any leaks, but I'll check them just in case.

I have over 10,000 miles on my V&H and never a leak and not loose. You might need a SS washer under those acorn nuts so they dont bottom out, they appear tight but are not just bottomed out.
