I will ride the Vic till I can't get parts for it and according to Polaris Corp they are going to continue to have parts for the bikes for ten years. Of course they told Gibby a year ago that Polaris was going to pour $ into the Victory brand, you see how that worked out

I preferred Victory over Indian but also see the duplication in demographics. They were both capturing similar buyers. Essentially competing with each other.
Makes business sense to shut one down and focus resources on one brand. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

I looked at buying a Springfield, but at the end of the day Harley sold me a Road King M8 107 for thousands less. The fit and finish on the Harley is still superior, but Indian is improving.

Both were trying to sell us old farts some big comfortable motorcycles. They just had two different looking bikes to do it with, I don't see an old fart not considering one or the other.
Lets face it, they they were both trying to capture the potential Harley buyer. All 3 competing for the same buyer. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

It is VERY difficult to get some parts now with a wait of 6 months sometimes, imagine what it will be like when they no longer build the bikes. And it is true that Polaris doesn't support their past products, when the parts supply dries up that's it.

Wow, I never saw this coming. Victory motorcycles has been the most innovative brand of cruisers for the past 10 years. Their bikes and brand loyalty have grown tremendously, and at one point I consider buying one. I'm sure this is a strategic move on Polaris' part to push riders over to Indian, but Indian has an image it has to keep, and will never be as innovative and creative as Victory. What a shame really.

For those of you that are planning on keeping your Victory's for a while, now may be a good time to stock up on some of the more common wearing parts before they are gone.

My local Victory dealer sent out an email that said accessories and riding gear are done. What is in the distribution chain is all there is. I parted with my Kawasaki Voyager XII 7 years after they ended production. 3 years after production end, Kawasaki dumped all accessories at heavily reduced prices. 5 years after production you were lucky to find any bike specific parts like air filters, and replacement parts had to found in the used segment. That is just from a model going away, not an entire division. If Victory had been an independent company that folded, owners would be left out in the cold.

And here I am, one lottery ticket away from saving Victory.
Could be tricky though. It was hard enough convincing the wife I needed two bikes.

This amouncement may really drop the resale value of used victorys. Seems to me if one really likes their bike and plans on keeping it for the long haul, buying a second one would give you a complete inventory of spare parts.
