Tail light/ brake light wire color

Can anyone tell me what color the wire for the brake light is? I'm trying to add an extra set of bullet lights to come on only when hitting the brakes as extra light. I have a blue, black/yellow, and a red wire to choose from. Any help is appreciated.

On the 1600's the Black/yellow is the ground Red is your tail light and the blue should be your Brake. Get a test light and check them to be sure before you cut into them.

Thanks minst. Now, my next question....will adding two bullet lights to that circuit screw anything up or will the extra power drawn my the extra lights be too much for the circuit?

minst is correct and No it won't screw anything up.

Depending I guess on where the new lights will be mounted you may access the wiring under the rear fender in a circuit box IF this is a 1600. IF it is a 1500, then you can tap in at the tail light and run the wires from there if you wish.

It really helps us help you if somewhere you say what year or model Nomad you have. I show mine at the left under my name. Others give that info in their sig line.

Sorry about that, its an 08 1600. I took the "box" off from under the rear fender directly behind the tail light and turn signals. I see the wires and im guessing that this is what you are refering to as the circuit box? thanks for the response.

Yeah that's it, Note there is sand clogging it's drain hole too. Don';t mind me I forget stuff, as i have CRS bad. So if i can't call something a correct name I just make up some other name.

Most guys here know that, and compensate for it, other wise they know I can bite!

Well that's lie, but I can threaten to bite.

What i did myself there to run 2 lamps, that each did running/brake fuctions, was to tie a wire to where i wanted it and then pass it up to that area, and down to the othger side, so plastic wire wrap tubing would feed and be the only thing you see if you look really hard.

I have lower bag rails, and used the bolt for them, to fasten home made brakets too. These brackets look like over grown drive chain side plates. Just basic.

There are a lot of differences between the 1500's and the 1600's. Many parts will not interchange. The 1500 has no box under the fender at all, just metal wire loops for the bare harness to go thru.

While you are at it, you just might want to pull the plate mount off the fender and make a gasket, as there is none on 1600's. Sooner or later the paint will be cracked for lack of a gasket. I was sort of angery to find that fact.

The 1500's do have a gasket there, as any other vehical has.

Some bean counter, no doubt saw a place to save 1/100th of a cent ...........again.
