I'll just say that either of those would be good bikes, I'm currently riding an 05 1500 with just a tick under 80k on it , I wouldd snatch up either of those low mikeage bikes in a heartbeat and never look back. Grab whichever one that begs you to take it home. Both are basically new bikes. Both have many miles of smiles left in them.

There's info in threads about the specific differences, and both have their pluses and minuses. For me, it would be the age. At some point, it will be hard to get parts from Ma Kawasaki, and for that reason, I would choose the 1600.

I say buy Tomm's bike. I've personally seen this bike and can vouche for the looks and the upgrades. He has taken very good care of the bike.

I'd go for the FI bike over carbs all day... have had both and like the FI much better. Less to maintain, more low end torque.

Thank you all for the input & assistance. Unfortunately, I found out that your credit takes a bit of a dive immediately following a home purchase, so I was unable to get a loan at the interest rate I wanted. Looks like I'll have to wait till next year, when there are no issues! Until then, I've managed to long-term-borrow my uncle's bike, a '14 CB500F. Not fast or luxurious, but will provide me with my 2 wheeled fix.
I'll most definitely be back! Having never owned a cruiser, it's almost crazy how set I am on a Nomad now... Everything I want in one package. Stay safe out there! |
