It's always sad when another rider losses their life in an accident that
someone is crossing in front of them. I still think education during the learning to drive process should be important. Learning to operate a vehicle should be the first step in a parking lot. Learning how not to kill others should be learned before they hit the roads.

I learned over the years just to stay home over the major shopping days like Black Friday. People are completely nuts trying to find an item on sale only later to turn around and take it back. Why buy the obsolete products the companies are trying to unload when the new model will be on sale in a couple of weeks.
Everybody is on the street and not paying any attention to what is going on while thinking about the next sale. It is no wonder cars pull out in front of someone when they are distracted or get tired of waiting for the traffic. Sadly it is often the rider who pays the ultimate price for the tragic mistake. Christmas and the holidays will never be the same for those families. With the holiday season just a couple of weeks away. Please be extra cautious and do not get in a hurry. Better to brake and slow down, even pull off the road for a while if you need to rather than assume everything will be okay. The final shopping days before Christmas will be a complete zoo. Everyone ride safe and let's hope none of us has any unfortunate accidents.

I think you are right, Mark. There are just some days that it simply is too dangerous to be mixing with the cagers! Sad, but true.

There are a lot of theories on how to be more visible to the cage drivers. I have Chuckster's spots, my headlight on bright all the time, the bulb increased to 100 watts (as discussed on gadget's page) AND a modulator. I went with the modulator after researching and finding that they are legal in all fifty states and all Canadian provences. Also, studies show that forty percent of all car/motorcycle crashes are because the car driver "didn't see the bike" but the modulators reduce those types of collisions by eighty percent. My experience riding (65,000 miles) with and without modulators show the the drivers definitely see me better. There have even been three occasions when cars pulled over as I came up behind them. Still, I feel the best thing is to stay out of blind spots, leave yourself room to manuver, and assume that everybody is going to pull in front of you. Ride safe!
