Gear lube

I am going to change my rear drive oil just prior to leaving for Custer. Up to now, only the dealer has done it. What brand/weight of gear lube do you guys use?

Howdy Jack,

I use Kawi's full synthetic gear oil. I'm at work now and I can't remember the weight. It's the only one they carry and it comes in a 1 liter bottle that will last you close to 4-5 changes.

I use Mobil 1 75w-90. It's cheap enough such that I change it every other oil change.

Gear lube

I used Amsoil Severe Gear Oil 75W90 Full Synthetic on my Shadow as it cured the problem of oil spurting out the vent. I carried on using it for the Nomad and works fine.

I was at Autozone this morning to pick up some replacement headlights for my Pontiac. I bought a quart of Mobil1 synthetic 75W-90 lube.

CJ..This was the easiest thing I have done in the way of maintenance on my bike. I was surprised how little fluid it takes.
