Installed Barnett Clutch Spring

Hey I like my "new" Barnett MT 25 spring!
It lets out much closer to bar! It takes more effort to work it, but it is good excersise for my ol hands!
A couple of observations....
We did it while bike was on sidestand, did not lose any oil.
The case gasket is aluminum or metal and in great shape, so it was no trouble reusing it after applying some High temp silicone gasket sealer.
Also removing pipe we did not need new gaskets, old ones were fine.
Could not tell anything by looking at the old spring, it didnt look that bad, but what a big difference in performance!
Thanks for everyones help! And Happy New Year to all the Scooter Trash out there!

Good job! usually the centre of the clutch spring is where the wear is. The metal gets worn down too thin and thats when the act up.

Congrats ! not a huge job really. And you'll give your forearms a good work out and they'll be looking like Popeye's in no time.
But really you'll love the upgrade to the MT-25, at least I did.

I changed my OEM 2004 1500 classic clutch spring for a 2003 Mean Streak spring and 2 Judge's Washers at the 54,200 km mark, and really cannot feel the difference in lever pull feel between the OEM and new MS spring. I kept the indexing washer in there along with Judge's washers.

Checking clutch

I forgot to mention that while we were in there, we measured the clutch fiber disks with micrometer...

3.43 to 3.47 mm and the book calls for 3.3 to 3.5 mm
