lost my best friend

:'(she was only 10 years old. We've been giving her shots twice a day for four years. The diabetes slowly took her eyesight and she was down to 14lbs. she started to have accidents in the house was having a hard time making a bowl movement. She wouldn't leave our side for fear of being alone. We knew the anxiety she was having as we video taped her when we weren't home. She cried, barked and couldn't settle herself.
If I would run into a burning building or jump off a bridge she would of followed. She would meet me every single time I came home from work and I couldn't do anything until I petted and rubbed her belly. Talk about being loyal.
She always shook when we went to the groomer or the vet and this time she didn't. I held her with her head against my chest and scratched her behind her ear until the drug did it job. I had to stay with her to the end. She would of did it for me too. Now she can rest in peace. I will miss my Peaches :'(

We had the same situation back in December with one of our Goldens. Cried like a baby. Tears are welling as I write this. Losing a best friend is hard.

Sorry to hear this, pets are truly part of the family and find their way deep into our hearts. We have the unlikely combination of a shihtzu and a pit bull ruling this household.

So sorry to hear of your loss. I lost my buddy last month. He was 11 years 1 month and 8 days old. I expected to have him much longer but you never know with pets or people. Once again my thoughts are with you.

I feel for you, I had to do that to my best friend about 2 years ago. He was 14 yrs old, we have had many best friends over the years but this old boy was one of the best. Just remember all dogs go to heven, cats come from H***.

Im sorry to hear the bad news Larry. At one time I couldn't beleive that you could get so attached to a pet. You have my sympathies.

I am SO SORRY! I have been in the same situation myself, and my heart has never mended completely. Like you, I held her all the way to the end. I am crying now as I type this...my thoughts and sympathy are with you.

My heart goes out to you Fish. We just did the very same with our 20 year old cat last week. It was tough. Put down two dogs in the past and it never gets any easier...

I know how you feel fish. I'm thinking of you and your family. Loosing a best friend is not easy. If I had to loose my lab, Gracie, it would absolutely kill me.

Sorry for your loss Fish. I know the feeling as we had to do the same 4 years ago with our beloved 15 yr old Dashshund. It is tough and stays tough for quite a while.
