Off to the Hospital

That is good news Rick, sounds like it wasn't terribly bad. Glad he is coming home today.

I'll bet he asked to spend the night so he wouldn't have to ride home with Liz. ;)
I hope the recovery is short and painless. Get well soon.

Off to the Hospital

First day back in the computer chair. Well the surgery was a bit more than expected. At the pre-op meeting the doctor told me to expect 3 to 4 incesion on the right side for the scope and tools and another 3 or 4 small ones where they sow the mesh in place. When they got in there I had not 1 but 3 herina's. A large one and 2 small ones from where the stiches had torn from the first try to repair this thing. So I have ended up with a total of 16 incesions, 4 for the scope and tools and 12 to sow down the mesh. At least I am on the road to recovery, that is what I tell myself everytime I try to get up or down in my chair or bed. Now I have got to try to stay active ( walk, hard to do with all this snow ), get my bowels back to normal, get the swelling down and try not to cough or sneeze.

Thanks for the paryers and well wishes, from the way I feel I am sure they wasn't wasted.

Thanks again,
Jim

Sorry to hear it was worse than expected. But like you said at least you're on the road to recovery.
Hope you heal quickly and get to feeling better soon.

Took the last pain meds yesterday at breakfast. I am a bit sore but not unbareable. Moving around is a lot easier. Body is getting back to normal and swelling has reduced about 50%. I go back and see the doctor February 8th. I should be in pretty good shape by then. Again thanks for all the supports.

Jim

Hey Pincushion (aka watchman) now you can tell more tall tales like how you were machine gunned and suvived. Definitely keep moving now. Scar tissue doesn't stretch too good later.
