Stevo, sorry we missed you over there! We were there around the same time and walked all over that place. Lots to see and some "nice views too." ;)
No worries on switching brands, Bill. :) We took a closeup look at the Vaquero, and was happy with everything about it but the damned seat. The new Nomad/Voyager seat is very comfortable, but this one was like sitting on a brick. Speaking of the Nomads/Voyagers, I want to like them, but the I keep coming back to the flimsiness of the ABS plastic. Just can't do it for that price. They had a GORGEOUS Royal Star Venture there, seemingly sturdier in construction as far as the bags and trunk went, for about the same price. The real surprise was the Victory Cross Country. That one's a top contender for my next ride - someday. For now, I'm still loving my '06. Hope all is well with you guys. Ya'll have a great weekend!

OK Jim, before you switch to that Victory Cross Country be sure to check out that George Jetson back end on that thing. It's too futuristic for me.

Oh, I did, in great detail. Honestly, it wasn't that much of a turn-off. It went well with the rest of the bike's styling - not quite as over-the-top as their Vision. The vision is just downright ugly in my opinion.
I would've never thought of it had I not thrown a leg over, but that Cross-Country was really comfortable. You sit "down" in the bike, a lot like the Nomad. Build quality was good, and plenty of space for a weekend or week-long getaway for two. I'll be watching that one closely. As for styling.. well, I'm kinda "ehh" on it. I'm more of a function-over-form kinda guy, and this one's got it in spades. They're doing test rides down in Tyler next weekend and I'm seriously considering giving it a go.

Taranis sorry I didn't see you and Ann. I was looking but as you said there were a lot of good views. My take of the new bikes was like yours. There were not any that I sat on that I liked as much as my 04. I guess I have got it to fit me just right. Most of them are like the choppers to me. Great to look at but I sure don't want to ride them. Parking location was not as good as last year. I was tired out by the time we got into the show.
