Load Resistor for LED directional

Hey guys. Anyone that has installed LED bulbs or directional. Where did you wire in the load resistor to stop the hyperflash? I know those can get hot and they recommend attaching to metal to displace the heat. Looking for suggestions.

I just installed them in my headlight bucket off to the sides with SS screws and nyloc nuts. That way its out of the way, it can transfer heat.
I tied my wires back where the other wires don't lay agianst them. But, you could mount them under the top triple tree if you wanted. I've never ever had problems with mine.
But, you can install them under the seat where the rear blinker wires come out there at that fender support. Just splice them inline....
I have LEDs at all 4 corners, am just running a single pr. of load resisters....mine flash just like many of the cars do. Faster than stock, but not the machine effect of not running them at all.

My fronts are wired in inside the headlight bucket, and the load resistors are zip tied to the frame backbone under the gas tank. The rears are wired in with a run-turn-brake controller that utilizes a duel load resistor, and it is zip tied to the frame behind the right side cover. The only time they will generate heat is while the blinker is actually flashing, because that's the only time they are working, the rest of the time, they're just there.

So one pair will handle all four corners?

O'Reillys LED load resistors, about 1" long, finned alum., gold colored....pk of 2....
https://www.amazon.com/Resistors-Sig...ZSQFDNHHPWC5Q8
Same ones from O'Reillys, these are cheaper....
I didn't use those cheap wire taps that they came with, I used the weatherproof bullet connectors to install, that way, if they ever go out, its plug and play, no need to resoldier, or fight with the wire taps. They do get too hot to hold, but not enough to melt the insulation of the wires....

I see five wires. I tried to tap into the green and than the gray while figuring the black and yellow was the ground. Did not work. Any help is appreciated.

Find your blinker wire for each side, isolate that wire (check that wire by using a test light), tap into that wire with load resister. You will probably have a ground wire in your bundle, too.

Dragon Lady's video is a good one, and here's a simple drawing that shows how I did mine, there's one for the 1156 and 1157 bulb types
