Hope this helps a little pictures from a 1600 nomad but i assume all bikes have the same idea for wiring the breaks. The unit takes the 5 wires in from the bike and separates to 4 wires out to fix the exact problem you are having. It also separates the trailer from the bike system so if you ever have a trailer problem it will not affect the bike wiring.
Thanks It does help, I'm Wired and ready to install now.

The newest hitch on the market

Alright, I got the hitch and put it on. I will say it is a damn nice hitch! Ordered it on Sunday night, got notice it shipped Monday morning and it was here on Wednesday, from Canada!

Cost me $185. Made from nice, solid 3/8” steel, not flimsy at all and covered in REAL powder coat!

The hardware that was sent was too short for my liking, so, I went and got some longer hardware. Can’t say it is a complaint, just my personal preference. I prefer to have a few threads sticking out for the drawbar to hitch bolts and hitch to muffler bolts.

It took all of about 30 minutes to install and that was taking my time. I also drilled two holes in it to mount my trailer harness connector.

I just got back from the maiden voyage pulling my Time Out camper down the road. I have never towed anything with a bike before and I couldn’t even tell my trailer was behind me. Not a peep from the trailer either. For those that are curious, the bike and trailer come in at 17’ 5” long.

For those that are worried about being able to adjust rise or drop on the drawbar. It can be mounted above or below the hitch and either with the bend up or the bend down. You can also adjust stick out by which holes you use in the drawbar. All that gives you a decent amount of fine tune adjustments to get the trailer to sit at the correct angle. I went with below the hitch with the bend down and used the rear two holes for my Time Out.

I definitely recommend this hitch! Buy it from their website and save $15 over what it costs to buy it from them on eBay.

That is a nice hitch I love it also. It is simple compared to the others on the market yet styled just right and looks good. Looks great hooked up to your trailer BonVoyager for afact

This hitch has been around a few years just wasn't available in the states I have mine on 3 different bikes.just a couple of tips lock tight the 2 bolts forward of the bottom bag bracket where the black steel is connected to the chrome. I added 2 spacers and j hooks for added strength.IMG_20180528_161203.jpg

I'd agree with BonVoyager. It is more safe to mount the hitch to the frame of a motorcycle. Besides the discussed hitch lowers the exhaust that may be critical for me in the wild.
