Driver backrest from Lonnie ARE AVAILABLE NOW!!!

I think I remember Todd saying it took him about 45 minutes and was not a hard install. I put the dogbone risers on my bike by myself and I don't remember that taking very long either. Make sure you cover your gas tank with a towel or blanket, just in case you drop something.

You are right kawgirl...took about 45 minutes...and the towel thing. I posted some pics on here on the riser thread I believe it was. Will try to find later. Not a hard install at all.

And, I think BD just called me OLD!!

What will risers do for me. Stupid question in know, but I don't seem to need them.
Jon,

I wouldn't say that I "needed" them, it just puts me in a much more comfortable riding position, especially on the long rides. I can sit up straighter. The one other thing I will say is that the handling characteristics of the bike will change when you add the risers and you will need to get used to it all over again. Nothing drastic, but there is a little difference.

I took some photos of the backrest already installed for those of you still wondering how it fits and looks. I took about a 80 mile ride today and it is great. Combined with the pullback risers, the bike handles better than my little 1100 did. Intentionally went to one of the ??? twistiest ??? roads in my area and I felt like I was just throwing that big 800lb monster around the curves.

Backrest going into the bracket that has been installed under the passenger seat.

Backrest all the way installed.

From the right side

From the top showing passenger room.

From the left side.

Entire bike and the way it looks.

Only reason I am posting is the same as all products I like and think others will like. Hope this helps with your decision.

I would most definitely recommend it, especially the bang you get for your buck.

You could manipulate the metal mounting point on the seat to move it a little more forward or back if you want, but, it is not something you could adjust over and over...once you get it where you want...that's where it is going to be. There is no up and down adjustment.

My opinion, it hits my lower back just where I need it. The good part is that if you get tired of it you can take it out of the mount and put it in your saddlebag in about 5 seconds. It won't be for someone that really wants an adjustable drivers back. But I like it for the price and convenience. It's just what I was looking for.
