Meals in Helen

Goose visited Helen this weekend and he talked to the hotel people. They have graciously offered their meeting room at no cost to us for use on Saturday night (Goose is the man). We talked about this and Goose suggested we can either order pizza or get something from a restaurant and meet there at the hotel and eat, talk, door prizes, etc. We could also sit down by the river and chat too.

As far a Friday night, we would probably do best by walking to eat somewhere. He suggested a local steak house that could fit us all in but we need to let them know that we are coming so they can get us a their room. If this is agreeable, I will ask Goose to call them and tell them to expect us on Friday night around 7.

I want to thank Goose and dixie for helping out with all the planning. Since I'm so far away and unfamiliar with the area, I am relying on them to do a ton of the leg work. Good job guys. Also, thanks to DaBull for the T-shirt set ups.

Hate to bring this up, but the largest snowfall in this area's history was in April......and in the 7+ years I've lived in the area it has snowed 3 times in April.

With Goose attending the Rally....what are the odds of............

LOL. I guess I'll have to pack the snow chains for the trailer and the Nad.

I will probably do that as a shake down for Custer. It won't be painted or completely "blinged" out, but I will probably do it.

Maybe!

Does bring up a point. Regardless of weather predictions, I definitely would pack some heavier clothes just in case.
I recall one time riding Cherohala Skyway, it was over 70 in Robbinsville when we filled up......and was 45 when we got to the top @ 6,500ft.
All I had was a long sleeve shirt. Froze my a$$!!

Cliff, his wife and I, rode Cherohala last fall and we were actually above the clouds.

Dang I'm sure glad I saw this here thread before I was offered up as a sacrifice! You fellerz are TOOOOO much with the weather jokes we didn't check-out any places that had a stage for all yaw cowmeadyannz to perform! You guys slay-me (look you've already turned me into one)! JUST KIDDING, all joking aside DIXIE is the one with all the great ideas, man what a HELP, anyone of you guys want to take a ride in some of the most beautiful areas in north Georgia? You need to give that man a call he knows that area! Thanks again DIXIE, WOW I've ridden through that area 2 dozen times and thought I'd seen it but man what I'd been missing, that area over there is W O W! Anyway I've got 85-degree SUNNY weather ordered for the Rally so Everyone that has had to back-out so far go ahead and change your plans and make this a part of your schedule! Good point DIXIE about everyone bringing along something extra to wear on the Sky way it can get quiet cool up there anytime! [GOOSE]

Goose...

Can you feel the pressure?

Are those beads of sweat forming on your forehead an indication of the responsibility of providing nice weather for us?

I'm making the trip all the way from South Florida where the weather is perfect to experience the roads of North GA and North Carolina, and the weather is in your hands.

I will have to pack extra clothes, from tee shirts to begin my trip to leather and chaps, "just in case" so you're covered.

Looking forward to meeting you inHelen..

Joe

Joe, at least with the trailer, the deer won't be stealing your stuff off the bike on the way back.

Good point Coach..

I think I'll walk on the wild side and save the trailer for Custer. 5 days on the road and with the nice weather Goose is going to have for us, I sould make it with the T Bag.
