Collect call

I just got my phone bill for August and can't believe the charge for a 12 minute call. Let me explain, when I was on My trip this summer I made a collect call from Cooke City MT. to Newport NY my home(no cell service) I was charged $40.19 it just seems like robbery. :(" title="" border="0"/> :(" title="" border="0"/> Sorry I just had to vent.

Collect call

If you called from a pay phone, or I believe a cell phone they have to disclose what the cost is going to be per minute. That happened to me and I didn't pay the bill. Later I paid something like $4.50. Lots of "oddball" carriers handle out of state collect calls and aren't reporting it. If the bill shows on your phone bill, dispute it and withold the collect call billed amount. It's your legal right.

Fight it.... Tell em you will pay 10% and no more. That little town is a great place to be.. The cabin I had there was a part of a lodge, and the owners had a big St Bernard.. he was fun to play with.

I had a similar experience with the cell phone when I called home from Pa. to Canada, My two minute call was about $25.00.
