Schumacher Speed Charge Maintainer

Purchased the Schumacher 1.5 Amp Speed Charge/Maintainer yesterday and installed it on the Nomad today. Charged for almost an hour and then went into maintain mode. Seems to be working fine. I feel that an investment of $19 and change at Wal-Mart is a good investment.

I have the pigtail routed out the left side of my bike as the way I park the bike it is closer to an outlet this way. Found out with some tinkering that when the pigtail isn't in use I can curl it up under my seat.

I have a similar set up with another brand battery maintainer.
On a small 12 volt compressor I carry in case of a flat, I changed the cigarette lighter plug to the matching flat plug on the pig tail. I can plug the compressor directly into the pig tail.

G, That new charger has sulfation pulse too! you don't need to do a thing to get the bennies. It just knows...

The pig tail is beefier and longer too... Now on my bike I have the old style pig tail, and run it forward and down to exit where the drain hoses are. There is a wire loom in steel there, and that pig tail just blends in.

It was like that with the reed valves, so if you still have them you can still feed the wire that way and save the paint on the left side cover top edge.

This should be a breeze with the new style pig tail.

In the multipack caps sets I get there was a black cap a tad too tight to use as a cover for the 2 prong connector, but using pliers that open when squeezed I forced it to stretch, and now use a black cap ti hide the 2 prong connecotr when riding. it keeps the contacts cleaner too.

..................

cnc, I have made up all sorts of adapters.... male to male cords, alligators to ciggy butt sockets, and any ol' whitchy way for what ever... even yours 2 prong to ciggy butt and male ciggy butt to 2 prong....

I bought one about a yr or so ago and then thought it went out. So took it back to wally world and placed it on the shelf and picked up one of the new and made the exchange with a service rep., it is slightly different and better i think.

I have the Schumacher charger with a pigtail, too. I also have a Slime Power Sport tire inflator which comes with a two-ended pigtail connector that hooks right up from the compressor to the charger pigtail. Makes life easy.
