I have been following this post for the last couple of days. I am so very happy that Gene is doing better and it looks like a speedy recovery. I am also struck by the out pouring of well wishes and phone calls by members of VBA. It's a true pleasure to be associated with all of you

He was getting out of the hospital this afternoon.
Kathryn was taking him home. They should be getting close to his house by now.

The SPOT did it's job, people tracked him down and notified his family. You're never alone with this group.

Any more news on Gene? Have been keeping track of this while on a business trip. Glad he came out of this alive but banged up. Motorcycles can be replaced, friends can't.

Hi everybody. Thanks for all the well wishes. I am doing fine...except, my mobility seems to somewhat impaired. The determining factor on my riding again looks like it will be how long it takes this wrist to heal. I'm ready now!
I ride A LOT on I-40 in cross winds, and that morning was the weirdest I have ever encountered.

You will have to keep us posted on how you are going to replace your bike.

I bet your daughter has been through an emotional roller coaster too.

Gene, good to hear from you and even better to hear of your determined spirit! Glad you are resting comfortably at home and getting things healed up. Keep us posted on the insurance diagnosis of your bike. Hopefully they just write you a big check and you can go test ride an Indian Chieftain...you know you want to.....
