Today's new Homeless

I think I've seen the first of a new generation of homeless people.

I was at Albertson's shopping and this light brown haired "kid" I'd say about 19 or 20 was sitting out front and when I walked by he asked if I had any spare change. Of course I said no but as I was shopping for tonight's dinner I was troubled by how "young" this boy looked.

I paid for my groceries and then took out a few bucks and decided that I'd exit the same door that boy was at to see if he was still begging.. Yep he was! I saw two people from the LA Mission talking to him and I just walked up and said, "hey buddy, your far too young to be homeless unless both of your parents got killed and you have no friends or family you can go to?? Tell ya what, I have a couple of left over dollars and you can have them if you tell me your story?"

At first he talked about the "beatings" and intolerable living conditions he was under. Paraphrasing his story was like this:

"Everything was cool until my mom married this asshole of a guy. I used to be able to come home and smoke a little bud, and get drunk with my friends... then that man came into our house and abused me. We got into 2 fights all because I broke curfew! Since I'm over 18 I told him to fu<k off I'm an adult and you can't tell me what the f<ck to do! Then I came home "faded" and we got into another fight. I stayed a week at my Aunt's house but she's a real bitch!! Same story, rules, rules, rules... "

I tried unsuccessfully to inform him that when you live on someone Else's nickel you play by their rules and that's just life.... He said he'd rather be homeless?!! OMG!!

I'm expecting many more homeless "I expect everything my way" kids to find their way to the streets as parents are not going to tolerate them much longer in today's economy. I really think the sh*ts starting to hit the fan with adult kids who are worthless (you and I know they are everywhere!) and kick them out.

I told him to "think about it" because he's too young and not in dire enough straights for people to care that he is homeless.... I wished him well.

You never know if what you said "sunk-in" or not. Maybe it will.

I see this crap all the time, although not necessarily that the "kids" are homeless. I see it with other people's kids that are still living with them. I have a neighbor with a daughter that I would send-packing if she were mine.

It really p!sses me off, and we'll be paying for this crap for a long time.

No one wants to hear my solution, but many would agree and be happy with! ;)

The short lesson on life that you gave that kid might be what he needed most. I wouldn't bet that you turned him around but it was better for him to hear this from a stranger than a relative.

Did he get the $$$?

Just 2 fights?

Man I was putting my mothers boy friends in the hospital starting at age 6, stopping because I left at 14. Obiviously at age 6 I was adapt with weapons.

The last of them is a wild story. I was 14 had gone shopping for food with my mother, a drunk, and came home carring in the bags. When i turned on the lights in the kitchen there were holes punched in the walls, and blood every where. Turned out there were holes punched in the dinning room, living room and even the cellar stair way.

The guy came staggering into the kitchen before I saw the rest of that.

I kicked his ass royaly, dragged him to his car, kicked his ass again bad, and threw him in the passanger seat.

Then I drove that car about 15 miles to a new neighborhood where they had opened up a stone wall, and I drove that plymouth 3 on the tree up on the wall so no tires touched the ground at all. I left him there like that. Hitched a ride back home and began to pack what I could carry. I was all done.

The cops came with that jerk before i was gone, and asked me if I put the car on the wall. I said No officer I am 14 years old and can't drive a standard car.

They hauled that jerk banadges and all to jail.

I hitched a ride to the train, and went to be a street urcin in Beantown.

Dad came when I turned 17.

He told you the story BD, I am assuming you are a man of your word and gave him the money. Not that he deserved it.

A lot of the kids these days are worthless. A lot can be blamed on the parents. Other kids were raised right but still turned out to be worthless.

When I was young there was such a thing as reform school. Do they not have those any longer?

rules, rules, rules

He likely doesn't know the meaning of abuse.

Another statistic in the making.

When will we as a society wake up to what has been created.

Look to history, the Romans had nothing on us. And where did they end up?
