Removing stock left grip
I just ordered a set of RacNRay's modded throttle grips. After watching some videos on Youtube, the actual throttle side looks like a pretty straightforward operation. However, the left side does not have any screws to remove, and I cannot find any videos that are specific to the Vaquero that show how to remove the stock grip on that side. Could someone please enlighten me as how to remove it?....Thanks

If I'm not mistaken , like the nomad you have to unscrew the chrome cap and then cut the rubber away or use a long skinny screwdriver to pry it off .
Moe than likely someone who has done it will chime in and confirm this ... Good luck with your new mod !! |

youo - unscrew that chrome cap. I had to use pliers to break/twist mine off. Then slide the rubber piece off. I had to cut mine off. I had no intention of ever using it again, so it was no biggie for me.

As others said, unscrew the cap then hack the hell out of what is left. Never had a bike that I was able to get the left off in a reusable condition. I don't even try anymore.
IIRC the cap screws off backwards...clockwise. |
