So Mike, what are you suggesting for rules of the road? New motorcycle owners should make meaningless statements without comparisons? Just say that it is fast, not X amount faster than a Nomad, or has good storage space rather than has more than the Nomad?(From what you said I assume you would tolerate them saying it was slower or in other ways a less capable bike than a Nomad since that would make you feel like you have a good bike. ) That will sure help everyone be informed about the differences in the bikes that are out there. Yeah, you betcha.

Frankly, that’s a bunch of self-pity party nonsense!

...and your comments are nothing more than smart ass remarks.

One can tout the qualities of their equipment without shitting on the audience. There's a difference and you know it. I fully expected to get the full frontal attack from the peanut gallery. I am however, a little surprised at how little has been said on the matter by current 1700 owners.

Maybe I'm the asshole... In that case, have at it.

Maybe this forum should be called:

I personally think the Nomad 1600 is a great mc platform. Most of the 1700 or other Vulcan crowd probably haven't jumped in because we don't give a shit what anybody thinks of our ride. We ride them all over w a big grin on our faces. I'm happy 4 Kris and any man should ride what he wants and can afford but when hear what people spend to go fast and heat their asses on a bike tha looks like George Jetson screwed a speedboat I'm even happier w my trusty Nomad that I never trailer. To each their own

Yankees seemed to have the Twins number for many years, we could not beat them guys. I think the record is Yankees; 1 million, Twins; 1

I'm more concerned with Boston. No love lost there. Or the Islanders if we are talking hockey.

Blindside from the Northwest

I have owned a 2001 Nomad, a 2008 Nomad and now a 2011 Voyager. I like my Kawasaki bikes. Yes I've had an 1800 Goldwing, a Harley Ultra Classic Electra Glide, good bikes but for me I like my Kawasakis the best. My wife had a 750 Vulcan, a 1500 Vulcan, a 1999 Nomad and a 2002 Nomad. Guess you could say we're kinda partial to Kawasaki.

The important thing here is for Kris to be happy with his new bike.

great looking bike!

You are a glutton for punishment. That makes being a NY Rangers fan seem sane.

Nah... it's still a Vulcan Bagger Forum Mike. Make no mistake.

My earlier statements in this thread still stand and will continue to stand.

As long as certain Enthusiasts refrain from repeatedly bad-mouthing this forum, it's members, leadership and Kawasaki... we'll all do fine.

And I'm with Gibby.... Yankees are a four-letter word in my house too... along with the LA Angels.
