Vaquero Grip Removal
I am planning on replacing my stock grips and wanted some guidance on stock grip removal and how hard it is. Any input appreciated.

My advice... be prepared to break, and cut, the left side off.
Put some channel locks on the chrome end piece of the left grip, and unscrew it. - "UnScrew" is a funny term in this application, because it's going to be completely screwed up afterward! Then slit the rubber grip length ways and get it off. Clean up any remaining adhesive, and you're done! Easy!

+1 what Jay said.
The end caps are chromed plastic that are screwed on. The left one on my Vaquero was so tight and required so much clamping force to grip it enough to actually unscrew it totally destroyed the chrome. Useless now! Not like I was gonna put them back on anyway, but I thought I could use them on something else. Oh well ...

I always just loosened the clutch handle assembly and slid it out of the way, took a thin blade screwdriver and inserted it into the end of the grip, and sprayed WD-40 into the area. Then just keep working the screwdriver around a bit and spray it once more and work the driver. Never had to cut one off, came off within a minute or so. And once you get it off the WD-40 already has loosened the goop up for wiping with a rag.
