Saturday Ride

Mitch and I were thinking about riding to either Natchez ( Pig Out BarBQ ) or McComb ( Dinner Bell ). Anybody want to join us ? I know it's kind of short notice, but those can be some of the best trips .

Sorry guys. I jumped the gun. We are going to do this another weekend to give folks more time to plan ahead. This weekend is not a good time, so we'll do it at some future date. If you have any suggestions as to when and where, just post it here.

Hey guys, Frank, Connie, Darlene and myself will ride up to Lil Dagos or the Country Store for lunch on Saturday. Any of you guys feel like meeting up there? We might have time to do a little riding after lunch and we need a guide.

Hey. Mitch! I'd really like to join you guys this Saturday but I swallowed some kind of bug Tuesday afternoon and I've been in the house since then with a *baaaad* cough and congestion. Pure misery!

When you plan the trip to Natchez or McComb, I'm sure I'll be finished with this crud. Look forward to riding with you again!

Take care of that bug Gregg and we'll get together another time. The nice weather is just beginning. Thanks for letting us know.

Frank, Made it home at 18:45. Perfect day to ride. The food at the Old Country Store was great as was the company. 406 miles round trip. It was great seeing you and Connie. Had a top shelf day. Let's do it again soon.

Same here, Mitch. We had a terrific day all the way around. Glad y'all made it home safe. You said it would be a 400 mile day for you. Ours was 280. We need to do it again soon now that the weather is better. Once again, we had a great day. Glad we did it.

Sorry we left you guys behind on I-110 north of Baton Rouge. I wanted to get through that swamp between Vacherie and Chacbay before dark. With the sudden warm spell, it's not uncommon for a 10 - 12 foot alligator to be stretched across LA-20. Their black color camouflages them on asphalt at night. Running into a 500 lb gator on the Nomad would ruin the rest of our days. Anyway, I didn't make it before dark, although I could see my white knuckles glowing for that 13 mile stretch.

Hey, we totally understand. I knew you probably wanted to get home before dark. Critters roaming out onto roads after dark are a huge concern. You're right. A Nomad is a good bike, but is no match for a gator or a deer. The fog this morning gave us a late start, but we had a real nice time today. We had a good, safe ride, perfect temps, first class company, and good food. Just an all around good time. Like you said, we need to do it again real soon. Glad y'all are home safe.

Frank and Mitch glad you guys had a nice ride and good eats. Nothing better than being with friends and a good meal. The ride was a bonus.

Met my Southern Cruiser group in Vicksburg Saturday morning. Just six bikes in all. A trimph, my Nomad and 4 Harleys. We rode over to West Monroe and ate lunch and went to the Harley dealership there. Biggest waste of 30 minutes I've had in a while. It made prices here in Jackson seem awful cheap. Man, they were outrageous, but they would negotiate. Then on the way home on I-20 I had to dodge a chrome side cover that flew off the 1200 Sportster in front of me. Let me just say that I love my Nomad and wouldn't have nothing else. Riding with groups like that just proves it more every time. Wished I would just drove down to Lorman and ate with y'all. But already had committed to the others. Jamie

Sorry to hear about your day, Jamie. I'm getting out of the local SCRC down here. Not my cup of tea. Never rode with them. They are always bickering amongst themselves. I don't need that. Never fear, though, all of us really liked the Old Country Store. I keep thinking about that fried chicken. We want to go back. Any time is fine for me.

P.S. I am very satisfied with my Nomad. I'm sticking with it. No Harley's for me !

Yeah, I love riding down to the Country Store every chance I get. A great 100 mile trip down there. And I never get tired of Mr. Arthur singing to us. It might just be the best fried chicked I've ever had, also. Jamie
