Wheels Through Time 1919 Indian rebuild

Here is a link to a pretty cool museum in Maggie Valley, North Carolina called the Wheels Through Time Museum.

You may have to register to view the video -- I am not sure -- but it is free, easy, instant, and without spam in return. I have been registered for some time now.

If you click on the video link; scroll with the arrows to find the 1919 Indian Powerplus. The most interesting thing about this is that the bike was found "brand new" in a crate buried within a brick wall in mid '80's.

So... when you watch the series of videos about this "rebuild" you'll learn about this bike's history and the challenges they had in putting it together so they could ride it -- which they did.

Anyway... I found it to be a very interesting video. I had never seen a bike of this era being ridden by someone, and I got a kick out of the engine's sound... I believe you will too. I also found it interesting that the museum was able to find the original "Indian-Red" paint in a spray can at Dollar General.

Watch it... I believe you'll enjoy it.

Very cool. I found it curious in the last video that the guy had a small stogy hanging from his fingers right above the fuel tank.... ! What a cool old bike though....jeez! Left-handed throttle and kick...that would screw you up in no time!

I visited that museum a couple years ago. Very cool place. You can poke around and see bikes in various stages of restoration. Very personable folks. I hope to go back there soon. Well worth the trip if you ride the Blue Ridge Parkway. Ton of cool bikes inside.

I'd like to stop by someday... and as Kris said, they seem a bit "laid-back"... so I am sure they are very accommodative to their guests.

I like the idea they try to get their old bikes running so they can go out and ride them. I especially enjoyed the old Indian rebuild since I had never heard or seen a bike of this age runnning... let alone ridden by someone.
