How many have Radar Detectors?

The absolute best radar/laser defeating device is your right hand on the throttle. Don't twist it too far and you will never get a speeding ticket!

I got 3 speeding tickets in 3 days over a 2 week period in the U.K last year. They have unmanned speed cameras everywhere. I did not even know I got them until I was back in Ontario and started to receive summonses from the Police via Hertz who I rented the car from.
At 35 U.K pounds each ticket ($70) it worked out to be a very expensive trip. I was only 6 or 7mph over the posted limit every time.

Personally i wouldn't even bother buying one unless your ready to spend the money to get either a valentine or a escort. it's been my understanding that these are the best two units out there, valentine being the better of the two. But like others have stated, with the accuracy of laser I have my doubts that even buying the best will do any good, afterall, unlike radar, you don't get any "radar splash" with lasers so you get no warning until it's pointed at you, and then it's too late.

I guess youd have to that they aim it at the guy in front of you first,(if there is someone there) to get a warning.

That works as far as regular "Radar" but i don't think it makes a difference if the cop is shooting laser. i don't think a detector will pick up the laser until it's pointed at your motorcycle or car. Course I'm no expert on this so i could be wrong

Makes no difference with Radar. Police could be getting the guy in the lane next to you and you wouldnt know. OTOH, even a $100 Cobra will detect all the radar bands, before they have a chance to get a read on you.
