Phil Peterson Poker Run?

I've missed you blokes. Been busy, back at school going for a nursing degree this time.
However I am going to do the Key West Poker run again this year. Anyone up for it?

Hey..good luck in school....going to the hospital the day before clinicals, sitting up half the night writing out care plans and reasons pt receives all their diff meds, the common side effects to look for etc (feel like you wrote an essay by the time have all the paperwork you have to bring to clinicals),..... writing out 'therapeutic communication' reports after visiting psych ward s etc....doing procedures for the 1st time (IVs, foley caths) with half the class watching you, bugging some poor pt by being the umpteenth nursing student coming in their room 'can I listen to your lungs too?' (because they sound really crappy)....ain't it fun'!....Nancy RN :)

Hey Eric, long time no see dude! (well technically it is long time no read....but you get the point).

Hey, post the info about the poker run, I might be able to do it but I know nothing about it and that may be the case with others.

If not let's try to connect during biketoberfest. Hopefully it it won't be minus 24 degrees like it was this spring!

Hey Nancy, I am an EMT and it has to be better than having dunks puke on ya and crack heads fighting off imaginary foes in a secret language. lol, Well... I might miss all the excitement.

well I am SOL on the Poker Run to the Keys. Same weekend as Mother's 91st Birthday. We are putting on the Birthday party for her and hosting my Sister from SC that weekend.
We'll have to touch base soon tho!

Hey Gramps,

my club (MotoSociety) always goes to the Poker Run. We stay at the Casa Marina Resort since one of our guys, who works for Peterson's HD, books the entire hotel for the event, and we get great rates (50%).
If you wanna stay there, call them up and mention code ZZIGG. I duuno if they still have rooms for those rates (I'm paying $400 for 2 nights, Fri thru Sun)

We're leaving Friday morning from SW Broward COunty, riding down the Turnpike, and picking up others at the SW122 service center in Homestead, then shoooting straight down Card SOund Rd to US1, all the way to Key West.

Hit me offline if you need more details, and please, can someone tell me how to subscribe to threads automatically so I know when someone replied to a thread I posted on?!?! :)

I know it's a bit pricey, but during Poker Run Weekend, every hotel in Key West charges an arm and a leg. Cheapest I found was a Days Inn (I think) for US$180 a night. For $20 more a night we choose the 5-star treatment.
That said, I would NEVER pay their regular rate of almost $400 PER night.

Book your room in advance, whichever hotel you choose, since available rooms are very very hard to find in the main Key.
