Question New England - R we done riding?

I will be putting the bike up tomorrow. I have threatened to before now, but the weather man has kept me going. Well tomorrow I will end the season as I think I'm mentally prepared to move into winter mode.

How about the rest of you, are you done or still getting the rides in?

Still getting some rides in, but won't be long before I put it in my brother's garage for the winter. I was able to put about 200 miles on it last weekend. Tomorrow is supposed to about 62 degrees, so if I'm off from work, I hope to ride some more.

They salted the roads here Thursday night, so thats the end for most of the biking, unless a good heavy rain rinses the streets down.

Was thinking of going tomorrow but the DOT salted the roads the last couple of days. Oh well, it is that time of the year.

Only a light dusting here that has since disappeared, not sand or salt yet and warmer temps for the weekend. None the less I am done here. I go through a change over mode every year, The bikes get winterized and go into the back of the garage at the same time the snow machines come out and I prep them for the coming season. I'm in the middle of that now.
OK I better pop back across the border now.

Hey, feel bad for you guys in the froozen north. Lived in Iowa and Michigan and know what it is like to wait 5 months hoping for a sunny 35 degree (farenheit) day with clear roads, then putting the battery back in the bike to get a 10 mile ride in! Sucks the big one!
Here in Charlotte NC, we see sunny and 55-60 degree (farenheit) highs regularly all winter long. We occassionally get a snow and sometimes it is cold but usually it is no worse than what I considered a great day for a ride durring the winter when I lived up north. And often it will be in the mid 70's durring the day.
I have a couple guest bedrooms with fresh linens here in Charlotte. I enjoy company. If you need a break from winter, and want to come south to get it, drop me a line.

I know what you mean. I took the snow blower out of the shed last weekend. It is now in the garage all prepped and ready to blow. Looks like snow should be here by the middle of next week.

we are planing on a ride tomorrow, suppose to hit 60. The salt is washed away from our October snow and if we stay on the main road the cinders won't be a problem. Today I might stop at the local bear check station to see how many bear were shot today, but that will be with the car.
I'm also moving things around in the garage and shed.

I thought I was done but I couldn't stand walking around the bike in the garage. It's in the mid 40s (and windy) but I had to ride a bit. I did 50 or so miles before it started to rain. I wasn't geared up for that so back home I went. I don't think it'll come out again before spring.

I am officially done for this season. I have been lucky enough to have ridden as much as I wanted to this year. The first time in many years. It was great......;)

I ride every day, no matter what the temp or weather is, until the salt gets sprayed on the roadways.
