If you rode 8 hours per day it would take 28 days to complete the ride.

I'm sure there is a quicker route for people interested in riding all of the states. I think the Iron Butt riders did it a couple of years ago.

Most likely true but this one had a rule that it included National Natural Landmarks, National Historic Sites, National Parks, or National Monuments in each state for the stops. That would put more miles than just crossing into each State line.

The Maine part of that trip is 15 hours. There aren't that many landmarks up there.
