Raising front end of Nomad without lift

Since I need to work on my forks, anyone know of a way to slightly lift the front end of my bike to get it off the ground without using a lift? I sold my lift over the winter cause I needed to so now I need a way to get it lifted slightly.

With the sidestand down (on a two by four) put a scissor jack under the right hand frame rail.
Block the back wheel so the bike cannot move.

I dont recommend it, but it might work.

Loosen all the bolts on the wheel and forks first.

If you're taking the front wheel and forks off, you will need to have something absolutely stable. It dosn't matter if you're lifting it slightly, or a bunch. Remember, you've got somewhere in the vicinity of 400 lbs on the front wheel. You really don't want to get the wheel and forks off and then have the bike fall off some jury rigged method of lifting it. That will probably end up costing more than renting a lift for a couple of days.

Do you have a garage? Use the rafters.

dyetube. Where do you live ?

Canadian Tire has their motorcycle jack on sale for $65. I have one and it worked good on my Nomad.

Ive lifted mine with a jack, then tied it to the garage rafters and removed the jack, it worked well for me.

Lift it with any jack, then put jackstands under the crash bars.

+1, block the back tire, put a floor jack with a board under the frame then jack stands where the crash bars bolt to the frame (not on chrome). Solid as a rock.

Thanks for all the input. Gonna try the floorjack and jackstands method. Should work just fine... Not worried about damaging the engine guards as the are already shot to hell from the accident (got a new one coming in).
