V&H mufflers (free)

I have a pair of V&H mufflers if anyone is interested. They were mounted on a 2001 nomad 1500. I mounted a set of oem HD mufflers. Needed to quite it down a little. Just pay shipping.

I'll take them; I am just up the road in Concord, right outside of Charlotte. I travel for a living so I can even pick them up and save ya the hassle of shipping if you like.

Not trying to take away from this thread but it sounds like it's just for the muffler cans, not the head pipes. You need the head pipes to use the mufflers. Still, free is free and a nice gesture on the OPs part.

xlock, you can have them, just send me a PM when you're passing through. I live just outside St. Pauls on Hwy 301. Zip Code is 28384.

I will cetainly defer to dgconstable if you need them; I was just going to use them to set up different baffles and have a spare set if I goof mine up as I plan on having my bike a long, long time...

He needs to find or buy a set in Canada. The shipping will be prohibitive, not to mention the customs BS the shipper will have to do.

No worries, just take em. If it's only the ends I can't really make em work with stock pipes anyway.

I love the comments people make from the US about the Customs BS,, there isn't any...... Just pack it and ship it. There is a form you fill out and it asks what's in the box and how much, that's it... You go through more crap with a visit to the washroom. :-)

Now if you were shipping guns or bombs, that's a different story. LOL

Which one's did you get, and how do you like them?

VulcanE, I found a set of slash cut cans that came off a 2010 touring model. I trimmed about 1 1/2" off the header pipes which put the new cans further under the saddlebags. They sound good and are quieter than the V&H's. Also bike seems to have better low-end torque. I rode about 150 miles and I do like the sound difference. I do appreciate your posting on your swap, it helped to convince me to do the swap. I found them on E-bay for $40 free shipping. Best $40 spent.

I too noticed a very good improvement in the low end torque, there's something to be said for "back pressure".

I used to manage a luggage company, and the hoops we had to jump through to ship to canada made it not worth doing business in the land to the north.
