Is there anyone local that restores old bikes, classics, vintage, etc ?
Find out how much it costs to get it done professionally. It might be worth it ?

FYI, the first link is here in FL and has tons of experience/good reviews. The price is around $700 plus shipping/insurance both ways. Does have a life time guarantee though and will even try to get the small dents out.

Mean streak idles with no problems but shuts off during the ride. Slow to crank but then repeats. I know the throttle needs adjusting but wondering if the old battery is part of the problem? Is that possible or just not getting enough fuel due to any stuff in the tank? Thoughts?

To some extent, as you mentioned black smoked pipe, blocked throttles and oil deficiency, seems its engine is having issue.
