Judges Washsers, any regrets?

I was wondering if any of you who have changed out your clutch washers to "Judges Washers" have any regrets with the way the bike handles after the changeout? Doc, Scoot, Scion? Others?
Thanks, Idaho

Judges Washsers, any regrets?

I finally got a e-mail back from Judge. Total price for washers is $32.00 cause I paid with paypal. $2.00 extra Ordered last week have not heard from him since. Don't know when they will come in.

But Geico came thru for me. Got a check for $1400 buxs cause of the deer in the road. Got all my replacement parts ordered just waiting for everything to come in.

When I get everything in, I plan on installing the washers so when that happens I'll let you know. Hopefully with in a couple weeks.

Let me know when you get these things and what you think of the driveability of the bike after the install.

Has anyone actually installed them? Doc, did you put them in?

Thanks Doc, I thought for some reason that you had installed them.

Still looking for someone who has installed these things. Anyone out there?

I put them in about 4 weeks ago and love the way the clutch feels now, it grabs a lot better and really seems to pull the bike stronger. Plus now you can push start the bike if you ever need to. Use the Mean Streak spring as it is a little heavier than the Nomad spring. You can find detailed instructions on Gadgets site. Its a very straight forward installation.

Ringadingh, have you had any issues with downshifting or maneuvering the bike in close quarters with a tighter clutch? Did you buy all new gaskets before you started the job? Why did you do it in the first place? Did you notice the clutch slipping or something? Rapid fire questions I know, sorry. Thanks Bud

Judges Washsers, any regrets?

My old clutch was slipping pretty good at about 38,000 miles, as I said earlier I replaced the old spring with a mean streak spring replaced the engine case and exaust gaskets, as well as adding the Judges washers. Thats should be all you need , about $50.00 for the spring and gaskets plus the washers. Gadgets site has a detailed info page on replacing the parts, its not hard at all, the most difficult procedure would be removing the large nut if you dont have an impact gun, with a gun it takes a few seconds and saves a lot of cursing. Be careful replacing the engine case gasket as there is a gear that is very close to the edge of the case, and can chew the gasket when your putting it back on. Also make sure the Judges washers as well as the concave stock washers are in the correct order, check and recheck as they will snap into peices if your wrong. I found out the hard way. Now it pulls like a freight train compared to before, Lever pressure is about the same, and downshifting slows the bike much better as compared to before. As far as some guys saying its easier to lock up the rear wheel I got used to it almost immediately, none of my other bikes ever had a slipper clutch . Now it feels like a clutch is supposed to to feel and work. Gadget has all the part # required listed in the article , check it out.

Good to go Bro. The clutch on my beast has been acting kinda funny on my top end when I roll on the throttle. I hear the engine speeding up but the bike feels like it's not really moving. good looking out.

That is the sympton that appears, the first time I noticed mine slip was going up a long hill, I gave it some gas to speed up and I heard the RPM's go up, it was so subtle that I thought I imagined it . It didnt do it again for a couple of months, but then started slipping regularly, not my imagination anymore. Try a new spring, you'l love it.
