Tank badges removed

Just removed the tank badges and think I might get the word "Nomad" painted where the badges were. I think I saw a tank done like that on this site by another member, but can't locate the picture. Any idea who it was? I'm thinking it will be done in the style like my '69 Norton had.
Regards,
Gary

There was a rider at the National Rally with a really cool looking "Nomad" painted on his tank. A picture of it is in one of the groups of pictures from the rally posted on this site.

Are you referring to the Vulcan logo on the side of your tank? If so what procedure did you use to remove them?

Gene use a piece of fishing line and a hair dryer heat up the logo and work the line in behind it just heat and work the line from one end to the other.

Thanks Jim for the advice. I thought I had read that before about someone using fishing line.

I used a heat gun and some fishing line to saw through the double sided tape. Then used more heat and elbow grease to rub the rest of the tape residue off.

I took a couple pics but don't know how to reduce the size to post them. You can email me gary.oconnor@nf.sympatico.ca and I'll email them to you, you can then post them if you wish.

I like the badges, but might paint Moose Bait on the ft fender on both sides.

I still like the look of the tank badges, especially the ones on the 1500's. Id remove them to paint the tank but would most likely reinstall them again.
