I don't think Norm wanted to know how good the riding was back in 1960 or 1970 in Texas.

LOL

But what do you mean by "we can legally drive on the road"? Is it currently illegal to drive on the road?

It only got to 65* in Phoenix today, should warm back up to the 73* "normal" for the next several days. =D just had to rub it in, you can have your revenge in August.

Funny almost all the comments are from guys who can ride year round, shouldn't you be out on your bikes?

Here in Quebec we have a mandatory snow tire law from the 15th of December to the 15 of March. Since there is not really any specific snow tires for bikes that would conform to the law, we can't legally get back on the road till after the 15th of March regardless of how nice it is out.

I have a 205/60-16 Goodyear Assurance Triple Tread on my '06. It has a #10 snow rating (i.e. the top rating without studs or chains). Not that I would ride in snow anyway, but the tire is rated for it.

It would need to be a snow and ice rated tire identified with a mountain and snow flake emblem, and you would need 2. All cars and tucks need 4. Then I'm sure they would argue that it is not a motorcycle specific tire but a car tire. All academic as I would never ride the Nad in the snow and I would never put snow tires on just to get a week or 2 jump on the season.

Been able to do a couple hundred miles this week. Just think, it won"t be as long as it has been. You're in the short rows now.

Yes, they are snow & ice rated, but I don't think they make one that will fit the front without mods.

I used to ride in snow in the 1970's when I lived in Spokane, WA, but I wouldn't do it on the Nomad on purpose. Back then I had a $500 Suzuki and it was my only transportation. Now I can choose from 2 motorcycles, a Chev Blazer, or a Silverado P/U. (and there isn't much snow in Phoenix )

Hey Norm, There are a ton of bikes out on the road here on the "wet coast".
Having said that, there is a snow fall warning for overnight in the higher elevations. It tried to snow while I was at work tonight but nothing stuck. I'm a ways away from riding yet. I have some much needed maint. to do and plan on getting started this Sunday. I am considering doing the SW rally at the end of May, but nothing is certain at this point. It's a long story that I won't get into now.
I hope the snow starts to melt for you soon.
I might head north to the "108" and do some more snowmobiling yet this winter. I got to ride the new sleds once, a month ago.
My Dad {85 yrs old} was out today sleding. He said they have about a foot of snow there right now.
