Speeding in Ontario

1) Good: A Caledon OPP policeman had a perfect spot to watch for speeders, but wasn't getting many. Then he discovered the problem. A twelve year old boy was standing up the road with a hand-painted sign, which read 'RADAR TRAP AHEAD'. The officer then found a young accomplice down the road with a sign reading 'TIPS' and a bucket full of money. (And we kids used to just sell lemonade!)

2) Better: A motorist was mailed a picture of his car speeding through an automated radar post in Kingston, ON. An $80 speeding ticket was included. Being cute, he sent the police department a picture of $80. The police responded with another mailed photo of handcuffs.

3) Absolute Best: A young woman was pulled over for speeding. As the Ontario Provincial Policeman walked to her car window, flipping open his ticket book, she said, 'I bet you're going to sell me a ticket to the OPP Ball.' He replied 'OPP don't have balls.' There was a moment of silence while she smiled, and he realized what he'd just said. He then closed his book, got back in his patrol car and left. She was laughing too hard to start her car.

I think this post is a fantasy. ;)
I was warned by a couple Canadians ( you know who you are, EH ) that going over the limit in Canada even by a little would result in a ticket.
Well the first thing I did after the border crossing was run right through a stop sign. Never even saw it. Cindy called my attention to it as I was traveling down the road and she was stopped at it.
There was a cop right there and he never moved from the spot.
Then we were going the speed limit and almost getting run over by every vehicle on the road. I mean they were flying by us.
So we started keeping up with the traffic flow.
Seems 20 or 30 mph over the limit up there is considered OK.

Tim you do know that when it says 100 that's not in MPH.

Most times they don't bother us until you go 20km or over on the limit.

While in Detroit, a speed cop pulled a woman over, asked her if she knew why he'd stopped her? Her reply: "I guess because you couldn't catch anyone else." He let her go.
