I think it looks great on the Voyager. Bit the bullet and sent my order form in. Spawned by the need for a good backrest. Grasshopper reviews made it seem difficult for passengers, Utopia great product but would not work with Russell Seat, Custom World and Bakup 300$. If I am investing $300 plus in a backrest its gonna be a Russell Day Long. Thanks for the push I needed. Good thing I can save til May when it will be built.

I would like to have one of these but my 30" inseam already makes it hard to flat foot on angled pavement already and from what I have read about the RDL it would be worse. I don't want to lower the bike so I'm sticking with the stock seat and a Grasshopper backrest.

The RDL feels lower than the OEM seat to me (as far as I can recall), and it's certainly quite a bit lower than the Mustang. I also have a 30" inseam.
The RDL does take just a little bit of getting used to how to put your feet down though. You don't so much straddle the seat, as settle your butt back into it. So when you stop, your legs go straight down in front of the seat. Hard to explain properly, but you can see from the photos of an RDL that the front tongue of the seat is very narrow. When you set your feet down, your butt will just creep forward so you're perched on what feels like the front of the seat, and you're straddling that narrow tongue. It feels a little odd for a while, and can feel like you're about to fall forward off the seat. You can't of course, because you have a large motorcycle between your legs. I can flat foot when I have the RDL seat on there (just), but I'm nowhere near flat footing using the Mustang.

I can flat foot with the mustang, when I put my RDL on I was like crap I can barely touch the ground. With the RDL on my Nomad I could flat foot easy.
I’ll get use to it and as far as the looks of the seat. My butt thinks it looks sweet.

I guess that quite a lot can differ in an RDL build then Framer... I asked for mine to be the same height or slightly lower than OEM, and sent along the photos they asked for. They contacted me back before the build to ask for a couple more shots, feet up on the boards, feet on the ground.
They nailed it for me - exactly what I asked them for. I've completely changed the rider's backrest though. Theirs was too high for my back problems, and I hated it thumping me in my upper back over bumps. I cut the mount down shorter and put a much smaller Cobra backrest on it down low. Doesn't get so much in my passenger's way either.
