Thanks all!!
Hello all,
I appreciate the info, YES I am going to take the MSF course, I am due next week. I know it's a big bike to start on, yet I am confident I will be able to get things going rather quickly. My pastor is the one i'd be riding with afterwards, The motorcycle ministry won't allow me to ride without taking the Motorcycle Safety Course, and I won't ever ride alone, for a while as well. As far as the oil issue on the bike, I will ask the seller when i pick up this week. Here is a pic though, :) My moto.jpg Login or Register to Remove Ads |

Vaya con dios and for sure (ALL) the 1998-1999 Nomad mfg. date TAG (which is located on the Right Side Upper Frame Area) do have the Plastic Oil Pump Gear which for sure Fails at any time. If your seller was the original owner they may have had it replaced thru Kawasaki. Somewhere on the site here I posted up an alternative with photos.
One way you can be absolutely positive yourself is to remove the Right Side Cover (being very careful) just make sure you have an extra gasket on hand to replace the old one. Also get a piece of cardboard and outline the new gasket on it, so when removing the bolts you can place them exactly into the cardboard being different lengths. Another note is a Washer located on the inside right side keep an eye out. You do not have to remove the oil to do an inspection. This should only take you at most a couple hours-just take your time and don't forget to torque the cover bolts on - as I busted one and had to remove the cover again to get it out. If you do have the Plastic Oil Pump Gear (POG) then I suggest Plan B. Welcome to the most Informative Web Site for the 1999 Nomad. Ride Safely
