My first car, and the one I had the most fun in was a '63 Plymouth Valiant with a 170 c.i. slant six motor, silver 4 door and push button drive.

My second car was a '66 Plymouth Fury with a 225 c.i. slant six motor, black 2 door, auto on the column. This was a great car, couldn't kill it.

1968 Chevrolet Camaro Z28

Fantastic car. Bought it in 1976. I had an in dash 8 track and new speakers. I blew a head gasket so I got a short block 327 rebuild and my buddies and I dropped the motor in after hours at a local shop and we cranked it up. I could stop at a stop sign and girls would just get in for the ride. Sold it in 1980 so I could move to Atlanta. I want that car back.

Those 225 slant six's were virtually bulletproof, huh?

Those Slant-6's were awesome! If you looked under the hood you would only see a big piece of metal with 6 wires sticking out of it. The most simple engine to work on. I think that's why I loved that car so much...it's simplicity.
People would look under that hood and wonder where I fed the squirrels.

We wore bell bottoms out here in the west, too. Angel Flight was a clothing brand.

Very nice car!!
This is the car my father had when I was learning to drive, I left it upside down on a bridge railing, 80 feet above the river. I didn't buy a V8 until I was 30 yo., I had a problem with the throttle.
It was a 62 Chrysler New Yorker, powder blue 4 dr., 383-4 bbl. Awesome car! Dad bought a '67 New Yorker 440-4 bbl to replace it.

It takes him most of the sunlit day to climb out of the barrel they stick him in at night.

67 Galaxie, 390, Candy Apple Red & Black Vinyl Top. Loved that car & wish I had it now. Unbreakable and lots of power. Wasn't factory 8-track though, had my own behemoth in there.

My favorite car was my first. A 1950 Cadillac Series 62. My dad gave it to me when I was 13. He bought it from the original owner and used it as a "loaner" car at his garage. One day, a customer's car had to be left overnight and dad loaned them the Caddy. The guy got shit faced and ran it through 2 parked cars and a cinder block wall! Dad had the car towed back to the garage and parked in in back of the building. He then went to the junk yard and bought another non-running Caddy 62 and told me if I repaired it, I could have it! I have a lot of great memories of my brother and me working on that car. Just had to replace the grille and the right front fender. That thing was a tank! I used to take it out for a spin when my dad went to lunch and the bank on Saturdays. I knew I had about an hour before his return and took full advantage. At 13 years old, I could barely see the road from the that beast. That hood went on for days!
