I joined the Nomad club today!

I joined the site a few weeks ago, after being hit by a minivan while riding my Suzuki C50 (VR handle tgabriel). Bike was a total loss, and I had been planning to upgrade to a Nomad for awhile, but with the settlement cheque finally in hand it was time to go shopping.

Today I picked up a new-to-me 2001 Nomad 1500FI with 43,000 km (about 26,000 miles). Has a Premeaux fairing, HD Tourpac, K&N air filter, V&H pipes, Power Commander 3, backrest, and a bunch of other goodies. Went for a quick spin today before I loaded it on the trailer for the 3 hour drive home, but can't wait to get it registered, insured, and my own plate on it so I can take it out for a real shakedown.

Here's a few pics:

Now all I have to do is pray for some decent weather so I can put a few miles on her before the white stuff flies!

Hope to see you on the road some time soon!

Cheers,
T

Other than the HD fairing, the Premeux is probably the best fairing for the Nomad out there. It's pricey, which is why there aren't more out there. Nice looking bike.

Gerry --- Just a few things. 1) That helmet is WAY too big for you. 2) If you can't reach the ground with either foot, you really shouldn't be operating a motorcycle. I would suggest you buy a trike although it looks like your feet wouldn't reach the shifter/brake on that, either. 3) BUY A NEW REAR SHIFTER PAD. I might still have my old one if you want it.

Just tryin' to help out.

Exactly why I bought it. The only things I want to do to it are:

1. Get some Kuryakyn Iso-Grips, and
2. swap out that HD Leather Tourpac for one of the Fiberglass box-style ones. I don't think it goes with the bike (personally). If anyone wants to buy it, I'll be posting it in the accessories shortly...or we could work out a swap!

thanks for the positive responses folks!
