Some in our region were interested in having a rally in that part of MO (elephant rock area). You've got some interest from us on that one.

Joel... Roads are better further south in MO.

As Jay said, our region is throwing around the idea of riding that area for fun.

Jay and Joel
I am not far from that area if you get down this way give me a shout, I will try to make a ride with you
I also like the idea of the mini rallies, times of the year just dont work for me, spring and fall are not times for me as that is when I am farming

We can take our conversation on doing that to the North Central Region board to avoid stealing this thread -- so look to that board in the future as this conversation proceeds. It is an idea I, personally, want to do, and would always look to someone local to add their input and expertise to the area.

Thanks!

It appears there are a quite a few that wouldn't mind meeting-up with others of VBA in areas outside our "region"... or just confined to our regional or national rallies.

I know Missouri is an area I plan on riding again next season...

Greg,
You should have come to Spyderfest. They had rides from Cuba to Elephant Rock, as well as runs to Eminence and Hermann. I'm sure they will have similar routes next year. This is a much bigger rally than any VBA rally I've been to. I did the Eminence ride while Ann was doing a ladies only spyder ride. Was lots of fun trying to outrun the rain (didn't make it).

It's just about 250 miles for us, so we could certainly do a short rally in this area.

BTW guys it isn't Waterman (Joel), but Watchman (Jim) that was in the last few posts.

What I am suggesting is small rallies in different states in our region, just weekend affairs, like a different state each or every other month. Not a moving rally, just adding 6 to 10 more each year to give more people a chance to experience the great people here at the VBA. I am already planning to have a Hill Country ride and a possible New Orleans gathering

The Cuba Rally is what reminded me that I haven't been to that area in years; and need to go back. "Farmers522" lives down in the Southeast quadrant, and might know of even better roads...

I think the idea is a good one. I know Jay (our new NCR Assistant Leader) is thinking of doing something.

I know we have tried to put together "mini-rallies" before in our region. These were more like... "hey! I am riding this weekend over here, if anyone wants to join-me events").

Through the years we have only had 4-5 riders to as few as 2 riders show-up -- which is fine, and still fun. But maybe now that the VBA is getting bigger, there would be more show. I know our regional had some show that hadn't before.
