Just got my 2006 Vulcan Nomad home on Tuesday. It only has 3477 miles on it and is in like new condition. Really like this bike. Had a VSTAR 1100 Silverado, which was a great bike too, but when I get out on the highway on the Nomad and get up to 70 MPH there is no comparison. I feel like I could ride at 70 all day long and the bike is not even working at all. Mine is the Dark Green and Silver model. Did the delabeling routine on Friday - saddle bag warning labels, side covers and gas tank label all came off with the help of a hair dryer and Goo Gone and then Maguires spray and wash and ProtectAll. Looks like they were never there. Really looking forward to getting some miles on this bike. I am a member of our local CMA chapter and really enjoy riding with them. I have to work on my slow speed maneuvers - not doing too well in that department. This bike is so much bigger than my VSTAR that I am not as comfortable yet doing the slow speed turns as I was with my other bike. I know I need to practice, practice, practice and I will get better. Glad to be a member of this forum.....

Welcome from Alabama. I know what you mean about the slow speed maneuvers. I had mine three days and was attempting to park. Bike fell over on the left side. Trapped my leg under it and with me twisting and turning my foot and leg I managed to break my ankle, tear tendons and ligament in my ankle and knee. Had ankle and knee surgery a week later. So do be careful until you are used to the extra. I previously owned a Honda VTX1300R.

Eagleman welcome from Mississippi and you are correct you can ride all day long at 70 or better with no problem as a lot of us did coming back from Custer.
