How do I Remove or Cover This?

I wanted to know if anyone knows a good way to remove or cover the Harley Davidson from my tour-pak.

How do I Remove or Cover This?

Is that an "Ultra Classic" trunk with the tail and brake lights? (I can't tell from the photo) ???. If so, the HD is on a thin aluminum plate that is stuck on with some pretty darn good glue. What I did with mine was to "CAREFULLY" pull it of, and I used it as a template on a thin piece of sheet metal (approx. 1/32 thick. with this thin of gage metal, you can use a good pair of scissors or snips to cut it out with). I cut it out the exact same size and painted it black. I went to the automotive repair supply shop and got some double sided tape, not the 3M type (it's too thick) but a type that is a little thicker than cellophane tape, but is used in automotive applications, and stuck my new painted plate on. it fits perfect. You can leave it plain, or put on some bling. I found an emblem for a '57 Chevy "Nomad" tailgate. I broke off the mounting studs, and used the 3M tape to secure it on with.

Using a little heat to help soften the glue might be of use. (Hair dryer -- not too hot).

Where'd you find the Nomad emblem? I'd like to have one of those myself.

if you can get a corner up, you might try a thin monofiliment fishing line and saw it back and forth behind the emblem

Out of curiosity, I did a search and found this site:

Yep, that's where I bought mine from, too.

How do I Remove or Cover This?

I would definitely use a source of heat and then try some very thin monofilament line to gently slide back and forth until I had it removed. I would then use alcohol to get the remainder of the glue stuff off. Just be careful.

How do I Remove or Cover This?

I found mine on eBay "motors". I typed in "script". I found a couple that were the size I was looking for. The first one and really the one I wanted most was sold from under me after I won the bid. I found this one shortly after.

here's one here.

How do I Remove or Cover This?

I got mine off e-bay also (about 3 years ago). I don't know if you would be able to use something to slide under it to "saw" through the glue (but the "heat" probably would be of help). It is recessed pretty deep in the fixture. It is just a thin, stamped piece of aluminum, and no matter how careful you are, your going to bend it up some. I used a small flathead screw driver to get it started. Make sure you put something between the screwdriver and the ridge you'll be prying against so you won't dent it, it's pretty soft plastic. After you get one end started, take a thin flexible putty knife, pull the emblem with one hand, and push the putty knife through the glue with the other hand. After you get it out, lay it on something flat (I used a section of 2 X4), get something to use like a rolling pin, and just roll it back nice and flat. Now you have your template. If your going to remove the tail lights (to repaint the trunk, etc) you'll have to remove this emblem, because the mounting screws are under it.

Try dental floss. It has worked a time or two for me, and you don't need much of a space to wiggle it under to get started.
