Need gloves

I'm looking for a pair of thick, heavy leather gauntlet-style gloves, preferably with a large cuff, to fit over the sleeve of my leather jackets. I have some lightweight deerskin gauntlets, but want something more heavy-duty. My uncle had a nice pair of these when I was a kid, and I'm looking for something similar. So if any of you run across something along the lines of what I'm looking for, please give me a heads up...

I've checked the "usual" sources: leatherup, newenough, etc. I'll even take a pair of HD gloves if they are the right ones.

Thanks, but not really what I had in mind.

These are not exactly what I'm looking for, but are close:

Fox Creek have some nice examples of gauntlets. Like the look of the deer/elkskin ones wit the outlast and thinsulate linings. But costly with those linings. Others there lot cheaper. Will have to print out that page and leave it laying around so someone gets the hint for Xmas.....

CJ what size are you looking for? Being the man you are, I would guess large?

Scott, I just bought these for my wife. They're soft & flexible. We haven't any cold weather yet so I can't say how effective they will be in the cold, but they are insulated. This vendor sells two types of gloves, the cheaper ones are made with patch work leather.. He offers free shipping & delivery to Northern Calif was 3 days.....-Rich

CJ would not speak ill of you my friend. Just wonder the size in case I run across any gloves while surfing the net. Besides, I saw your Bad Ass Biker picture on another thread. Scares me. Is that your costume for Halloween?

I looked at the gloves I have and they are all XL or XXL. I'm going to keep looking locally so I can try them on before I buy them.

Halloween costume? No, that's how I look when I ride (when it's cool enough to wear leather).

I have a pair exactly like these. Don't remember where I bought them though. They work great! Warm and stop the wind from going up your sleeves. I've ridden down into the 20s with these and hands were toasty warm.

Scott, I shopped these folks for Anita's gloves too. I didn't buy from them because they did not have the fringe gloves in stock in her size. Email them your size to confirm they have the gloves in stock.

You might also try the helmet source.com too. If you buy from them, they offer free shipping & have a $10 off coupon code, "rider5".

Scott,

I bought some gauntlet style gloves. They say "LG" on them. They have thinsulate (how much I am not sure), kevlar, and hypolar(sp?).

I bought them from a vendor booth at a bike rally...don't remember the vendor. They a very warm...too warm for anything above 50 degrees.

They were only $40.

I have also heard good things about the Tourmaster Winter Elite (about $80).

I think they key is to get at least 80-100 grams of thinsulate.

Good luck and let us know what you buy and how they perform!

Fox creek is where I have found some good quality gloves. I have the Deluxe Lined Deerskin Gauntlets. I have rode in weather down to 28 deg with minimal discomfort.
