If your completely repainting the doors, you could remove the aluminum strips. The indents won't show up that much, or if you want to go the vaquero look fill in the indents. Just a thought.

I agree with the rest . The slight tilt you did definitely made it a part of the bike .

Correct me if I'm wrong , but aren't the side covers the same for the vaquero as the nomad . Then you wouldn't have the lines to contend with . I'm sure filling the indents would be a lot cheaper though .

I assume they are the same minus the indents, but I bet the doors if they can be bought separate would be pricy. A complete Nomad bag new from Kawa is crazy expensive.

Yes , I agree with you there . You've really got to want them bad enough to pay that big price . Finding a set of used doors would probably be quite rare . I'd probably just go with a fiberglass resin and sand them smooth . A bit of work there but worth the $20 bucks if you want them smooth .

You could get some of that glue remover and gently peel those ribs off, just leaving the recesses, and look at it for awhile an see how you like it.
With the custom paint on my bike, you almost don't even see the grooves until you look hard....

Take a look at my avatar.

That's what the bag doors look like without the strips and not being filled.

Here is a pic of my '05 Nomad without the strips. Click on the pic and you can zoom in closer. It was very easy to peel them off and clean the glue off after.

I really like the look... especially now it has been tilted, it just a pity that on this side of the pond everything is at least 3 times the price, otherwise i would be tempted to do it myself...Well done bud

That fairing with a radiator, that's how bikes should be built. Nicely Done.

Thanks for the props. I have just ordered a HD crash bar and lower fairings and am going to try and adapt them to the Nomad. No, I don't want a Harley, It was the cheapest option by far so if it works out it will be in the budget. I have less than $200.00 in the crash bar and vented lower fairings.
