2000 Kawasaki Vulcan Nomad 1500FI $4000 SC

2000 Kawasaki Vulcan Nomad 1500 FI. Fuel injected, shaft drive touring cruiser with hard saddlebags, driver and passenger floorboards, and heel and toe shifter. Vance and Hines full exhaust and K&N air filter. It has factory Kawasaki fire & steel light bar and backrest with luggage rack. Highway pegs and handlebar risers(2in up and 1in back). I have leather chaps for the engine crash bars. It has 2 sets of crashbars, engine and saddlebag, so if you drop it in a parking lot, you won’t screw up the paint.
My Dad purchased this bike new from Columbia Powersports. I got the bike from him this spring. My dad bought a BMW K1200LT with a Hannigan sidecar, and the nomad didn’t get ridden much in the last three years. My Dad had all the maintenance done at Columbia Powersports, and I have all the paperwork. When I got the bike this spring I changed out all the fluids; fresh gas, brake fluid front and rear, clutch fluid, coolant, 2 oil changes, and new gear oil for the shaft drive. It has shell Rotella full synthetic oil in it, along with synthetic gear oil. The clutch spring was shot, so I replaced it with a Barnett clutch spring, the clutch plates and friction discs had plenty of life left, so I did not replace them. (Kawasaki Nomads are known for having weak clutch springs from the factory). I put new spark plugs in it, and recharged the K&N air filter. The battery is about a year old. My dad put new tires and brake pads on it, they have tons of life left in them. There is no valve adjustment on this bike, so it’s ready to ride. Bike runs fantastic and I get 40 mpg. The bike has around 24K miles on it(will go up as I commute 300mi a week on it). Pre 2000 Nomads had plastic oil gears that always failed; this has the redesigned metal oil gear that will ensure trouble free operation for the life of the bike. With proper maintenance these bikes can easily reach 100,000 miles. I have the owner’s manual, and a digital copy of the factory service manual to go with the bike. I have the original exhaust and turn signal bracket bar also. It has a rider to passenger communication system as well; I use it to listen to music through my helmet speakers. This bike is ready to ride to the Blue Ridge parkway!
It does have some scuffs on the saddlebags, and a light surface scratch on the gas tank. There are some swirls on the windshield that could be buffed out. But it looks fantastic from 4-5 feet away. No dents or dings, and no mechanical problems whatsoever. I would not hesitate to hop on and ride anywhere on this bike.
If it’s so great, why am I selling it? I had hoped I could talk my wife into riding with me, but that is not going to happen. It is a little too big for me as a commuter bike, so I am looking for something smaller. This is a big heavy cruiser NOT for beginner riders.

I'm selling locally and on craigslist for $4500. VBA discount to $4000

Comparable bikes in the area are going for more than that with twice the miles.
Test rides only with valid motorcycle endorsement on your license and cash in my hand(you break it you buy it).
Call Tim @ 803-413-8886 to set up a time to see the bike. I live in Columbia SC off of two notch road near I-77 and I-20.

Great you sold it.You have had better luck than me.My 05 with 12,600 miles,$1500 worth of accessories and in showroom condition is still setting in the in the car port.$5700 and not one person has even wanted to look at it in over two months.I may just keep it as it is a great motorcycle.I guess it is not the end of the world if I own two bikes.

It's hard to sell bikes this time of year. You will have better luck in the spring. I am selling mine for $3700. Which is slightly above the Nada value. The only reason I am getting that is the low miles 25k. And it cleaned up very well.

All the nomads in my area are listed for more than the Nada value. But they are all still listed, not selling.

Good luck

You are correct about the time of year. Not much of anything is selling around here.It has been really hot so maybe cooler weather will spark some interest.I don't even like ride on these 95-100 degree days.

Looking for complete, original duel exhaust system for my 2004 Nomad.
I believe any exhaust system from 1999 - 2008 will fit.
****Are there any forum members in Winnipeg, Manitoba or surrounding area that happen to have a set for sale. I need a set asap. Also willing to trade my current V&H pro-pipe for the originals.
NOTE: I am not sure if this is the best place on this forum to look for this item, but its worth a try. Thx, Dave
