I am wanting to remove the V & H baffle on my 2 in 2 one Pro- pipe exhaust, the wrap it with 1/2 inch stove rope and fibre glass pack to reduce the noise somewhat. Did you need a slide hammer and how difficult was the baffle to get out? Note: my ride is an '04 Nomad. Thx for your time.

Vance and Hines Pro Pipe

I just ordered a different Pro Pipe baffle that was designed for Harley's but will fit the muffler for our bikes. It's supposed to be a bit more restrictive than the quiet baffle for our bikes which I hope will result in an even more reduction in noise along with a deeper sound. I have read mixed reviews regarding the quiet baffle for our bikes so I'm going a different route. The PN for our bikes is 21903 but the one I ordered is 21906. I spoke with someone at V&H prior to placing an eBay order with a generous return policy. It should be here mid week and installed soon thereafter. Results will be provided when I'm finished with this little experiment.

Vance and Hines Pro Pipe

While I have not yet remounted the muffler as I live in an apartment and the bike is at the parking garage at the office this time of year, I can tell you that the much more substantial quiet baffle PN 21906 will in fact fit into the muffler where V&H calls for PN 21903.

I hope to get this thing mounted and test ridden sometime in the next week.

I got the muffler reinstalled and was able to ride it down the road behind the building. About a 1/2 mile down and back. Initial impression is positive. The high pitch hollowness is gone and it's definitely quieter but not quiet. Once I get the chance to take it on a real test ride, I will know more but I am certain there is going to be a great improvement. Especially once I get the ECU flashed and eliminate the backfiring.

Scorpion6,

From where did you order the "quiet baffle PN 21906 "?

eBay but I deleted the email traffic once I got it installed. Just drill down to motorcycle parts and do a search for 21906. There are multiple duplicate listings for it at the price of $109. When I ordered, there were 7 reviews on the baffle. That info should get you to the correct listing.
