Memorial Day Run.

As member of the Patriot Guard we did a run Saturday morning at the Canton, Ga. Veterans Memorial. They started them on Saturday to make room for all the events we had here in Georgia this weekend.

It was a very nice way to pay tribute to our vets. This had to be one of the biggest one I've ever been to. Over 90 bikes, and no telling how many cars and bus's were there. We had to do the flag line in a half circle around the event. It lasted about 1 1/2 hours long, and I have to admit, I'm getting too old to have to stand there, flag at my side , saluting a few dozen times, and holding it for what felt like an eternity!

Civilians and big brass had chairs to sit on. At least there was a breeze ever so often!
The boy scouts and girl scouts were there placing flags on the grave markers... and thanks to them handing out plenty of cold bottled water none of us passed out!

Leaving was something else. What is it about people in cages who once they get in them their frigging mind goes blank!!!
It took us about 45 minutes to get rolling, and the temp was in the low 90's...

Wouldn't have missed it for the world! ;)

Memorial Day Run.

Mike, I really wanted to be there too. But, working 3rd shift last night and tonight prevented my participation. Sometimes jobs get in the way, but it beats being unemployed.

Glad you made it! Salute.
