I use half-helmets -- although I have a collection of full-face and 3/4's.

Half-helmet served me well in my crash last May... only a small part of my face was scratched after I was thrown from the bike and skidded for quite a distance. The helmet was trashed and is hanging in my garage as a reminder to never ride again without one. I would have been seriously injured or killed without it.

Accidents happen real fast and don't allow you to pull-over and put a helmet on first.

I've got a Shoei half helmet I use for hot weather day to day riding and a full face by the same maker that I use in cooler weather and for longer trips.

I know I'd be better of wearing the full face all the time but honestly in the SE it can get so stiffeling in the summer that even a well ventelated full face is just too hot. It also is nice that the Yalu helmet will fit in a saddle bag so I can lock it up if I park my bike somewhere it will be out of my sight! ;)

How do you like the Schuberth? The C3 is on my list as a replacement.

I suppose the C3 is better than the C2 (at least, it´s more expensive).

The C2 is pretty quiet, with a wide field of view. At the beginning you can feel a bit claustrophobic, but after 50 km you know why you paid what you paid.
Only one thing... compare to the Arai, is heavier.

The C3 is supposed to be lighter, but it is an expensive helmet.

I used a half helmet as well most times, thankfully something possessed me to wear my full face the day of my accident. Had I used the half helmet I would only have had half a head left at best. As much as I like using the smaller lid I think I'll use a new full face a lot more in the future.

Or a modular I suppose. I like them a lot as I don't have to take it off to talk to someone or eat/drink.

In Greg's case, he has a good reason to use a half helmet or at least one I can understand. Helmets are getting lighter though and without loss in protection.

If I could see into the future and know when I could get away with anything less than ATGATT I would ride in shorts and flip flops with a non DOT beanie helmet and a propeller on top.

Paranoia [ˌpar.rəˈnoɪ.ə] (adjective: paranoid [ˈpar.rə.noɪd]) is a thought process believed to be heavily influenced by anxiety or fear, often to the point of irrationality and delusion. Paranoid thinking typically includes persecutory beliefs, or beliefs of conspiracy concerning a perceived threat towards oneself. False accusations and the distrust of others also frequently accompany paranoia.

Preparedness refers to the state of being prepared for specific or unpredictable events or situations. Preparedness is an important quality in achieving goals and in avoiding and mitigating negative outcomes.

Big difference there my man.

What helmet do you wear ?

I wear half helmets, although I own a HJC HiMax Flipface. My reasoning is that I
wear a Hearing aid on my right ear and also have a Cochlear Implant on my left
ear. I just can't get a full face helmet on with the hearing devices and I won't ride
without being able to hear. I wear a cotton welders hat under the helmet which
comes down over the ears and holds the hearing devices in place and shields
the microphones from the wind. Works pretty well for me.

I just ordered a 100% Carbon Fiber jockey DOT style to replace the old fiberglass
jockey style I now wear.

I wear a Shoei RF-1000 (full face). I also bought a Shoei Qwest at the Bike show in January, it's a fullface touring helmet, supposed to be very quiet but haven't tried it yet.
