Same thing on my Victory. When I shut off the radio, the iPod stops playing. When I shut off the bike, the iPod shuts off. Even if it stayed on, it would take most of the winter to drain the bike battery.

I think that is only if it was playing through the aux, because I seem to remember that when I activated my bluetooth, and without the ignition on, it would connect and play the IPOD, the IPOD will also continue to play after the bike is off. You will also notice that when you plug the IPOD into the connection, with the ignition off, the battery charging indicator will show on the IPOD screen which indicates to me the connection is constant power, that said, my IPOD will automatically pause and play from the last point when I connect via BT.

As long as you have the ipod connected to ignition power. When you turn off the bike the ipod should turn off on it own within a minute. mine does.

Installed mine a couple of days ago, according to everything I read it shuts off automatically. When I start the bike up it picks up exactly were it was when I shut the bike down. Was not sure of the ipod version I had since (several years old) there is no real way to tell but I guess I have a gen 4 or better due to the fact that the I pod charges itself. Generation 3 and earlier do not charge while hooked up to the adapter, it's in the fine print.

I believe the ipod will eventually go into sleep mode, then when you turn the ignition on, it will start charging, and, you should be able to use the ipod.

I believe it only goes into sleep mode, try it out, just turn off the bike, take the ipod out and disconnect it, then hit the button on the bottom, I think you will see the screen come up with the slide bar that you slide to open up the main screen. At least that is what mine does, and I have the Kawasaki Ipod connector.
