Fuel pump

Cane,

Since it's carbs and usually gravity fed, do you know why they use a fuel pump with the carb system?

No idea, but it set me back $250.00 ordering all the stuff to put it back to factory. Needed the pump for the tour tank.

Glad you worked it out and your paint look great. My questionis...Why do you need extra fuel? I would not want to ride more than 150 miles at a time without a break.

Cane,

I can't believe what a nice job you have done with that bike, and so fast. You should be really proud of yourself. Nice job on everything.

Great looking bike. Love the color. You did a great job on the extra fuel tank. Not something I need but if you lived out west I could see the benefit.

Nicely done man! You'll love the extra range. And it does make your scoot a bit unique. :)
Hands down, it's the best mod I've ever done on mine.

I was a truckdriver for years. When I start driving I typically get into a groove and just ride. It was done more for my personal comfort rather then an actual need. Don't get me wrong, some of it is also for peace of mind. The redwoods run I am getting rdy to do is going to be a 2 month ride and I will be all over the place so peace of mind is worth it as well.

Thanks for the compliments everyone. Family now has a running bet of how long before I buy another "project" ???

I just took another look at your paint and I have to say it is NICEEEEEE That is one Mac Daddy of a scoot. I really like the motor cover matched, gives it more of a custom look. You should carry a photo of what the bike looked like when you got it in the bags. Nobody would believe it's the same bike. Good luck on the road trip, I'm envious!

It's a trunk off a 83 (?) yamaha venture. Grabbed it off eBay for $75 and the backrest I paid an additional $75.
