Florida help

Hey everybody,

My neice just graduated with a degree in Communications with a minor in business. She's looking for a job in Florida. Her boyfriend lives in Jupiter and the girl she plans to room with has a job in West Palm Beach. Her friend is down there now looking for a place to live.

I was wondering if any of you have any connections for jobs or places to live. My neice is willing to do just about any job as long as it's enough for her to pay her bills and have a little play money. She said secretarial work or something like that if she doesn't find something in the area of her degree. Please let me know if you have any info I can pass along to her.

Amy, I was thinking about Jim when I suggested you post here. I know he deals with a lot of businesses, but our economy is tough. Somebody will come through for her..

Hey Guys,
Disregard this post. The boyfriend broke up with my neice night before last. Not sure what the deal is there but she's going to check out things around DC. I think it's all for the best.

Sorry to hear but at least it happened prior to her relocating.....She will be closer to you in D.C. instead of FL.

Kawgirl, I am so so so shocked!!! I read your post and I though oh no here it comes!

Then read the responses. Not a single guy asked if you have a picture of your niece as regards finding her employment. This is a class group!!! I am impressed guys!

As a former Falls Church VA resident the DC area has a lot of opportunity (yes the government is booming right now while we all are starving) but it is very expensive. Wish her good luck! (Then point her towards Atlanta or Orlando or Tampa)

Sorry to hear about the break up but better NOW instead of later. We are 35 miles north of Jupiter. A 'nicer' place to live would have been Abacoa area, but it isn't cheap.
The biggest problem down here is REAL jobs. There are some service jobs, but the divide between service and professional job classes are very real. It is very hard to find anything in the middle. I am very lucky for the job I have (Vought Aircraft Industries, manufacturing) but even my nephew has a degree in communications and can't find work either.
This is a tough state to break into and I have been here since 1968.

LOL Coach. She is a real cutie, but she needs to FOCUS on finding a job right now. I do agree with you on that one trosco.

She is headed for DC Friday and has an interview set up for Monday already. She hopes to hear from some of the other jobs she applied for as well. The job she's interviewing for is in Vienna, VA. Anyone familiar with it?

Thanks for the input guys. I told her the same thing about the break up. Glad it happened before she got moved down to FL.
